Betty Suarez is a smart, hard-working young woman from Queens with big dreams. She lands a job at Mode, a high-fashion magazine in Manhattan, despite not fitting the industry’s beauty standards. Publishing mogul Bradford Meade hires Betty as assistant to his inexperienced son, Daniel, the new editor-in-chief. Daniel initially treats Betty poorly and tries to force her to quit. He soon realizes her worth, and the two form an effective team. Betty navigates the cutthroat world of fashion while balancing family, love, and her own ambitions.
