MI6 agent Zara Taylor and former French protection officer Vincent Taleb reunite after a surveillance operation off the Libyan coast goes awry. When a plane is hijacked near Libya, the pair uncover a deadly conspiracy orchestrated by Russian mercenary leader Yuri Mishkin, who plans to unleash a lethal virus across Europe. With a mole infiltrating MI6 and trust in short supply, Zara cuts off all official contact except with her confidante Karen. Meanwhile, in Benghazi, Vincent is gravely wounded and infected with the MERS-CoV virus, forcing virologist Rachel Moss to save his life in exchange for his promise to help her escape. The investigation leads from the Libyan coast to European capitals as Zara and Vincent race against time to stop Mishkin’s organization and prevent a biological catastrophe.
