Vinnie-isms: The Story of the Cop Comedian follows Vinnie Montez, a Boulder County Sheriff’s deputy who turned to stand-up comedy to cope with the trauma of police work. After nearly a decade in law enforcement, Montez began performing comedy that draws on his experiences as a cop, his Mexican-American family life, and his struggles with mental health. The documentary traces his journey from his first open mic to becoming a nationally touring comedian. It shows how humor helped him heal and how his unique voice connects audiences from comedy clubs to police departments.
