In the quiet coastal town of Wakestead, the discovery of a teenage figure skater’s body sends shockwaves through the community. Detective Inspectors Emma Crane and Tom Radley are assigned to the case, but what begins as a straightforward murder investigation soon unravels into a web of lies, institutional cover-ups, and moral compromise. As Emma digs deeper, she uncovers a toxic culture of sexism and misconduct within her own police station including a secret WhatsApp group where male colleagues share inappropriate banter and sensitive victim images. Forced to choose between loyalty and truth, Emma must navigate both the murder enquiry and the treacherous politics inside her team.
