Paolo lives a modest life in a small provincial town, working as a piano mover while planning his wedding to his fiancée, Winnie. His routine changes after he unexpectedly reconnects with Téophane Tolbiac, a former classmate who is now an ambitious and charismatic candidate for mayor.

Paolo becomes involved in Téophane’s campaign, hoping to join the politician’s inner circle. What begins as admiration and a desire to help gradually develops into an intense obsession, blurring the line between loyalty, friendship, and possessiveness.
