Set against the political turmoil of South Korea in the 1970s, Made in Korea follows Baek Ki-tae, an ambitious businessman who uses money, crime, and political connections to climb toward power. Prosecutor Jang Geon-young becomes determined to expose Ki-tae’s illegal activities and the corruption surrounding the KCIA. Their conflict develops into a dangerous struggle involving ambition, loyalty, revenge, and national politics.

Season 2 jumps forward to 1979, after the assassination of the president. Ki-tae is now powerful within the KCIA, but the changing political climate creates new enemies. Geon-young continues pursuing him, while family divisions and the approaching military coup push both men toward a final confrontation.
