Two androids—Father and Mother—tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet called Kepler-22b, after Earth was destroyed by a great war between the Mithraic religious order and the Atheists. As the colony of humans grows larger and more divided, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of the humans is a treacherous and difficult task. When the Mithraic survivors crash-land on the planet, a dangerous conflict erupts between the two factions, forcing Mother and Father to protect their children at all costs. As secrets about the planet’s mysterious origins and the true nature of the androids are revealed, the family faces threats from within and without, leading to shocking revelations about the world they inhabit and the forces that shaped it. The series blends science fiction, horror, and philosophical questions about faith, humanity, and what it means to be alive.
