Eight years ago, Nanoka Kiba survived a fatal accident at Gogyō Town Shopping Center. As a junior high school student in present-day Japan, she discovers a mysterious portal in an abandoned shopping district passage that transports her to Japan’s Taishō era (1912-1926). There, she is saved from a deadly yokai by Mao, a mysterious exorcist who has been cursed to live for 900 years. When Nanoka returns to the present, she realizes something about her has changed—she has developed supernatural abilities. Together, Nanoka and Mao investigate the bizarre events occurring around them, uncovering the truth about the curse that binds them both. As they delve deeper into the mystery, Nanoka begins to piece together her broken memories of the accident and discovers how she and Mao may have something more sinister in common.
