Set centuries in the future, humanity has colonized the Solar System, with Earth and Luna governed by the United Nations, Mars operating as a powerful independent military state, and the Belt populated by exploited workers under the Outer Planets Alliance. The crew of the ice-hauler Rocinante—led by James Holden—uncovers an ancient alien technology known as the protomolecule, triggering a conspiracy that threatens to ignite war across the entire system. Across six seasons, the story expands from a missing-persons mystery into an interplanetary conflict involving alien gates, political intrigue, and humanity’s struggle to survive beyond the Solar System.sf-encyclopedia+1
