Connell and Marianne grow up in a small town in County Sligo, Ireland, where they form a secret, intense connection despite moving in opposite social circles at school. Their relationship continues to evolve as they navigate the transition from secondary school to Trinity College Dublin, where the social dynamics shift—Marianne becomes popular and confident while Connell struggles with loneliness and class insecurity. Over the course of twelve episodes, the series follows their on-again, off-again relationship through misunderstandings, toxic partners, mental health struggles, and personal growth, exploring how deeply two people can shape each other’s lives without ever fully understanding one another.apple+2
