Owen, a 23-year-old sound engineer working at a university bar in Manchester, meets a girl named Emily at a club one night and is instantly smitten. She types her number into his phone, but the next morning he discovers she mistyped it he has an incomplete, useless number. Not willing to give up on what he believes was love at first sight, Owen teams up with Emily Raine, an American psychology student who sees his quest as the perfect case study for her final assignment on romantic obsession. Together they spark a hilarious campus-wide frenzy involving podcasts, viral fame, and an amusing parade of women named Emily, all while testing their own hearts and ambitions along the way.
