Set in the Star Trek universe in the year 2380, Star Trek: Lower Decks follows the support crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos, one of Starfleet’s least important ships. Ensigns Beckett Mariner, Brad Boimler, Sam Rutherford, and Tendi serve in the lower decks of the ship, handling the less glamorous but essential missions that keep Starfleet running. While the senior officers deal with high-stakes diplomatic and exploratory missions, the lower deckers navigate the absurdities of life on a Starfleet vessel—from malfunctioning equipment to bizarre alien encounters. Blending sharp comedy with genuine Star Trek lore, the series celebrates the unsung heroes of the Federation while delivering heartfelt character development, pop culture references, and plenty of sci-fi adventure. Over five seasons, the crew grows from misfit ensigns into capable officers, facing everything from time loops to multiversal threats, culminating in an epic finale that honors the franchise’s legacy.
