In this adult animated adaptation of the iconic DC Comics storyline, Bane orchestrates a massive breakout at Arkham Asylum, releasing all of Batman’s most dangerous foes into Gotham City. Exhausted and pushed to his limits, the Dark Knight must hunt down every escaped villain while Bane systematically studies and dismantles Bruce Wayne’s life. After destroying Wayne Manor and bankrupting Bruce through the stock market, Bane finally confronts Batman at Wayne Enterprises headquarters. In a brutal, bone-crushing showdown, Bane breaks Batman’s back over his knee, leaving Bruce paralyzed and forcing him to pass the mantle of the Bat to Jean-Paul Valley (Azrael). As Azrael takes over, his increasingly violent methods begin to corrupt the symbol of Batman, setting the stage for an even darker chapter in Gotham’s history.
