In a slightly fictionalized New York City, single people are legally allowed to have premarital sex on only one designated night each year. While most embrace the holiday as an excuse for casual encounters, recently dumped pizza shop owner Owen and hopeless romantic singer Allie are searching for something more meaningful. After an unexpected meeting sparks an instant connection, a series of comic detours, misunderstandings, and chance encounters continually pull them apart as they race across the city. As dawn approaches, both begin to realize that the person they’ve been searching for all along may have been right in front of them, proving that love can be found on even the least romantic night of the year.
