Sons of Anarchy follows the lives of a close-knit outlaw motorcycle club called SAMCRO (Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original). The club operates in the fictional town of Charming in California’s Central Valley. Since 1967, SAMCRO has held sway over the town through political and business dealings. They run both legal and illegal businesses, including gun-running, a garage, and involvement in porn films. Jackson “Jax” Teller is the club’s vice president. He struggles to balance being a father and being involved in the outlaw lifestyle. Jax discovers his late father’s manifesto, which describes his hopes for the club and concerns about its increasing lawlessness and violence. Jax’s mother, Gemma Teller-Morrow, is married to Clay Morrow, the club’s president. As Clay and Gemma drift further from the law, Jax must choose between the brotherhood and his father’s ideology.
