In Jiangcheng, a city in central China, a series of brutal rapes and murders terrorized the area in the summer of 1998. The killer, dubbed the “evil ghost,” used a horrifying ear-cutting method and claimed seven victims before vanishing. Seventeen years later, in 2015, a young veterinarian named Yu Na disappears from a pig farm. Clues point to the same “evil ghost” from two decades ago. Feng Taishan, the policeman who worked the original case, reopens the investigation. He suspects the pig farm owner, Yan Huiru, and her three children, whose strange behavior hides darker secrets. As new victims emerge, Feng races to uncover the truth behind the disappearances and the bloody past that refuses to stay buried.
