Lena is a quiet, obedient college student who has spent her life meeting others’ expectations. Her curiosity about intimacy is fueled mostly by books until she meets Cole, an older, confident man who introduces her to a world of lust, attention, and validation. What begins as exciting soon forces Lena to ask an uncomfortable question: is she making these choices because she wants them, or because she wants to be wanted? Then Astra, a mature and intimidating substitute professor, enters Lena’s life and treats her differently. Their growing closeness opens another door, bringing out feelings Lena has never allowed herself to confront. Caught between two very different relationships, Lena must decide what she truly wants and how much she is willing to give up to feel loved and accepted.
