In the 28th century, Major Valerian and Sergeant Laureline are elite special operatives for the United Human Federation, tasked with maintaining order across the galaxy. After a daring mission to capture a rare shape‑shifting creature in a multi‑dimensional market, they are ordered to the colossal space station Alpha known as the City of a Thousand Planets where thousands of species have converged over centuries to share knowledge, technology, and culture. When a mysterious attack abducts their commander, Arun Filitt, Valerian and Laureline race through Alpha’s countless environments to rescue him. Their investigation uncovers a hidden community of Pearl aliens, survivors of a destroyed world, and exposes a dark secret about humanity’s past that threatens not only Alpha but the future of the entire universe.
