Prince Hal, a wayward and reluctant heir to the English throne, has turned his back on royal life to live among commoners, spending his days drinking and brawling with his mentor, the aging knight Sir John Falstaff. When his tyrannical father, King Henry IV, dies and his brother is killed in battle, Hal is crowned King Henry V and forced to embrace the responsibilities he once rejected. Thrust into a world of palace intrigue, betrayal, and brutal medieval warfare, the young king must navigate treacherous politics at home and lead England into a devastating war with France, culminating in the legendary Battle of Agincourt. Along the way, Hal struggles to reconcile his ideals with the ruthless demands of power, while his bond with Falstaff is tested by the harsh realities of kingship.
